BLACK FLAG - DISCOGRAFIA? - (USA)

 

Black Flag fue una banda de hardcore punk formada en 1977 en Hermosa Beach, California. El grupo fue concebido como idea de Greg Ginn: guitarrista, principal compositor y único miembro original tras los muchos y varios cambios que tuvo la banda a lo largo de su corta historia. Son considerados como una de las bandas mas influyentes y que dieron lugar al hardcore punk, junto con Bad Brains y Minor threat entre otras.
Black Flag creo un sonido único a partir de mezclar la simpleza en bruto de los míticos Ramones con tonos velocidades mas agudos y rápidas. El grupo fue también conocido por el intenso y provocativo contenido de sus letras y canciones, cuya mayor parte fue escrita por Greg Ginn The. Como otras bandas de punk de la época Black Flag dió voz a crítica social, neurosis, pobreza y mensaje inconformista, temas que se explotarán más una vez dentro del grupo como vocalista Henry Rollins, que lo liderará en 1981. La mayor parte del material que compuso y realizó la banda fue creado y grabado en el sello de Ginn de nivel independiente, SST Records.

Black Flag fue y aún todavía sigue siendo una de las bandas más respetadas de la escena hardcore punk underground, al igual que en la escena hardcore, fue una de las chispas que dinamito el mundo del hardcore y la evolución del punk. Son considerados a menudo como los pioneros del movimiento underground de» haztelo tú» del que la mayor parte de las bandas de punk (hardcore punk) de los 80’s tomaron parte. A través de las giras realizadas en Estados Unidos, Canadá y algun concierto Europeo, el grupo fue dejando seguidores que irían aumentando cada vez más.

Durante el transcurso de la década de los 80, el sonido de Black Flag fue cambiando notoriamente y se fue envolviendo en un camino, ya más distinto de aquel punk incial.

As usual DIY has been shit on from a great height by sell outs as is evident with some crust/grind bands selling out and supporting the more corporate orientated aspects within the extreme metal underground. It seems money and the rock star life style is too much of a pull for some. Its irritating when these people claim to be DIY, but it is obvious by their actions that they are driven by money and rock star egos.
  The level of apathy from some punks regarding the DIY community is as bad as the mainstream's apathy towards world affairs. They are only interested in famous crust/grind/punk bands & don't care about DIY, which is actually the real scene. Help and support ya fellow DIY or the scene will just be dictated by external influences and over rated famous bands.

  Therefore, this comp was created as a protest against the many forms of  apathy including pathetic sheeple that cannot recognise or take one precious minute out of their lives to stop & think.

Punk isn't about having the best generic uniform or having the best hair & tattoos.
