Zaterdag 20 en zondag 21 oktober organiseren de AGA/Vrije Bond samen met filmhuis Cavia het Anarchistisch Filmfestival Amsterdam. Dit weekend zullen er de hele dag films te zien zijn over het anarchisme haar verleden, heden en relevantie in de hedendaagse sociale strijd.
Enkele films die zeker op het programma staan zijn:
The Black Power mixtapes – Een fantastische Zweedse documentaire over de zwarte emancipatie beweging in de VS in de jaren 70. Kortgeleden werd deze film vertoond op de Zweedse televisie naar aanleiding waarvan een aantal migrantenjongeren zich hebben verenigd in groepen die zichzelf de Panterna noemen en militante politieke acties doen. Hierover is weer een gelijknamige documentaire gemaakt die wij ook zullen gaan vertonen. De regisseur komt speciaal uit Zweden om een inleiding te geven bij deze documentaire.
Paths Through Utopia – Een rondreis langs enkele gemeenschappen die zichzelf (tijdelijk, en voor zover mogelijk) buiten het kapitalisme hebben geplaatst, zoals een klimaat actie kamp bij Heathrow Airport of een door arbeiders overgenomen fabriek in Servië.
Verder nog enkele korte films van SINAPSIS film collectief uit Chili. SINAPSIS is een videomagazine dat korte docu’s en films uitbrengt over de stand van sociale, inheemse en historische conflicten in Chili, vanuit een anti-staats oogpunt.
En verder komt de anarcho-hardcore band Landverraad zaterdagavond door muziek begeleide speeches geven!

On October 20 & 21 the AGA/Vrije Bond will be hosting the Anarchist Film Festival Amsterdam at the collectively-run cinema ‘Filmhuis Cavia’.
During this weekend we’ll be screening around 10 feature films and documentaries through which we hope to give an impression of the past and present of anarchism and through which we’re hoping to catch a glimpse of her future.
We are still working on the program, but here’s an impression:
Lucio. About a Spanish worker, anarchist and master forger who outwitted the capitalists. He stool from the rich and gave to the millitant anti capitalist action groups.
Better This World. A documentary about 2 boys who were betrayed at the 2008 protests against the Republican National Convention and are now imprisoned on charges of terrorism.
Synopsis Video Collective compilation – Videos from a Chilean Collective that produces DVD magazines as a means of getting information to the people.
Athens Now! A series of reports on the situation in Greece, Athens in particular, and the role that anarchists play there.
The Black Power Mixtapes. A Swedish documentary on the black emancipation movement of the seventies in the United States.
Panterna: do not treat us like animals. A Swedish documantairy about migrant youth in who improve their living environment through millitant collective action. The Panterna’s (as they call themselves) got their inspiration directly from the film mentioned above. The filmmaker will be present at the screening.
Paths Through Utopia. An journey past ‘utopian’ communities in Europe, living alternatives to capitalism, giving us a glimpse of what a possible future might look like.
On Saturday night we’ll have the super energetic anarcho-hardcore band Landverraad playing live.
On Sunday morning, Peter Storm will be playing some old and newer songs of love and revolution on his guitar.
On both days the books and info stands from the Fort van Sjakoo, the AGA and ‘Olie op het Vuur’ will be present for the necessary propaganda and information.
And on both Saturday and Sunday the best vegan kitchen crew of Amsterdam will do their best to provide the the guests of the festival with good food at a modest price.
The festival is free but steats are limited. So be well on time if you would like to catch a film!
